Friday Favorites 03.30.18

Happy Good Friday to all my readers!!

It’s Friday so that means I’m linking up with Andrea, Narci, and ErikaI bring you some of my weekly favorites!! Mostly food items this week with pics of my crew 🙂

I’ve been snapping pictures right and left of my dogs. They are the most willing and happy models. Shelbie always looks stoic while Stetson gives me a range of expressions. I also snuck one in of Shay and Stetson because it’s too cute, totally heart melting, and makes me want to go out and adopt 394583 more dogs. 

 

I have been drinking a lot of teas lately. I love Trader Joe’s ginger and turmeric herbal tea and will drink it hot or cold.

 I’ve been trying so hard to stay away from Sonic Tater Tots. Sweet potato fries have been my next best solution! Costco sells a big bag of these sweet potato fries in their frozen section. I have baked some to go alongside salmon and scrambled eggs (not in the same meal of course!). Once I polish off the bag, I’ll try out their tots! I won’t fry them so that’s ok right?

To spice things up with our spaghetti dishes, I’ve been using these chicken meatballs. I don’t really eat them anymore since I’m mostly just eating fish now but I did have a small bite when I cooked them for Shay the other night! Some of the meatballs are gluten-free but they are quite rich and a bit fatty. Shay’s favorite flavor is the caramelized onion. We have found these at Kroger, Costco, and Walmart.

Since the weather is getting warmer, grilling season is upon us! I purchased this vegetable grill basket at Bed Bath and Beyond. We eat a lot of grilled onions, bell peppers, and zucchini on the grill so this will be a efficient way keep everything on the grill without food falling through the grates.

  • If you grill veggies then you have to try grilled green beans. It’s the one veggie I miss the most on grills and always make my parents cook some when I visit them. All you do is toss the green beans in a little olive oil, salt and pepper before throwing them on the grill. Cook them until there’s a little char on them and they are done. They barely take anytime and are fantastic!
