Friday Favorites 04.13.18
Happy Friday everyone!! I’ve got a little bit of this and a little bit of that!
I decided to get over my fear of white pants (due to my love and clumsily obsession with guacamole and spaghetti sauce) and purchased a pair. I bought a pair from Burlington Coat Factory and have worn them several times! I have gotten a few little stains on them but they come right off with some cold water. Thank goodness! It feels more like spring now that I have a required spring wardrobe piece. They look a little wrinkly but they look nice when you wear them! I couldn’t find an exact link on Burlington’s website but the brand is “D Jeans.”
I have discovered these gluten-free/vegetarian tamales and they are AMAZING! They are delicious with pico de gallo, salsa, guacamole, and more beans on the side 🙂 I sometimes cook a few and then put them on top of lettuce with pico for a tamale salad! Sounds weird but it’s another sneaky way to get more vegetables. Speaking of veggies…
Having Chipotle across the street from work has been dangerous at times! I really try not to eat out at work to save money but about once every two weeks, I’ll treat myself! I like to order the salad with black beans, cilantro rice, lots of veggies, pico, and guacamole in lieu of meat!
I downloaded this free game on my phone a few weeks ago and it’s addicting. The game is called “Fight List” and you have to name things from a category in a certain amount of time. Points vary on your responses. I’ve been playing against my best friend and brother and it’s been fun! My only complaints about the app are that it has too many ads at times and crashes. It may need an update that I haven’t done yet but I have to be quick to “double tap” the home screen button so I can remove the pop-up ad. This game is also it sensitive to typing so be mindful when submitting responses!
This past weekend, I went and saw “I Can Only Imagine” with Shay, my mom, and grandparents. I highly recommend this movie. It’s about the popular single by the Christian band MercyMe and the events leading up to the creation of this song. More importantly, it brings up the topic of forgiveness and how not doing so can plague relationships and ourselves even more than we realize. Christian or not, consider seeing this movie. Bring your tissues as it is an emotionally charged movie!
I wanted to end this Friday Favorites segment by paying a homage to National Sibling Day and National Pet Day (since I’m super late!)
My brother Evan and I are a little over two years apart in age. I am the older one though he is much taller and his hair is super long. I’m thankful he and his lovely wife Courtney only live 45 minutes away from us. The rest of my family lives in Houston so having Evan and Courtney here in the DFW area makes me feel less lonely!
Shelbie is officially two years old and still our big diva queen. It takes an act of Congress to get her to potty in the mornings because she is so lazy and will not get out of bed. Stetson on the other hand jumps out of bed as soon as I move an inch. He’s always on the go and ready for an adventure.
So that’s my round up for Friday favorites. See you all next week!
