Friday Favorites 04.20.18
It’s Friday Folks!! I’m ready to bring you another round of my weekly favorites and am linking up with Erika, Narci, and Andrea. In the spirit of Earth Day coming up, I thought I would share some of my recent floral/nature favorites.
Last Saturday at Town Talk (a local salvage grocery store I frequently visit), they were selling beautiful bouquets of flowers for about $4 per dozen! What a steal! Since Produce Saturday is always mayhem at Town Talk, I only grabbed one bouquet but seriously regretted it afterwards. I’m hoping they will resell flowers again in time for Mother’s Day! My flowers have been looking super fresh over the past week which is a bonus!!
I am a big Vera Bradley fan especially since coming to the DFW area. Our first apartment was across the street from Grapevine Mills which meant trouble for my wallet! The mall had a Vera Bradley outlet and the products were usually 50-80% off. The only catch is that the products were either discontinued or older patterns but I didn’t care! I like to mix and match anyways. I’ve been enjoying this floral laptop case!
Speaking of florals, we have this intriguing tree in our backyard. Every fall and winter it looks completely bare but for the past two years, it has consistently bloomed during spring and summer! We have been enjoying the beautiful coral/tangerine colored blooms! I am guessing these are peonies but I’m not a gardening expert. This tree brings fond memories of Shay’s grandparents as we are living in their former home. The flowers are a delicate symbol that they are still among us 🙂
Spring means more time outdoors for Stetson and Shelbie. We have been enjoying walks, trips to the dog park, and lots of ball play for Stetson. Last week, I took the pups on a walk on the verge of a little storm rolling in. Thought this was a rather neat view!
Lastly in the spirit of Earth Day, I thought I would share two of my new favorite YouTube video bloggers/YouTubers/whatever you call them! I have been enjoying videos from Shine With Plants and Sarah Lemkus. They document their lives as plant-based/vegan families and share wholesome recipes that look AMAZING! I don’t think I could ever become that disciplined as they are total raw vegans but they make it look so easy and delicious! Also, their children are SUPER ADORABLE!!
Well that’s all for now! Hope you all have a rejuvenating weekend!
For the love of the trees,
