What’s Up Wednesdays- April 2018

Hello Wednesday!!

I’m linking up with Mel, Sheaffer, and Shay for another addition of What’s Up Wednesday!

What I’m eating this week…

Funny you should ask. Both Shay and I were out of town this past weekend so I did not get a chance to grocery shop. It will be an easy week of something I can throw together in the crockpot. Otherwise it will be breakfast for dinner, or raid the freezer with leftover Beef or Vegan Enchiladas.

What I’m reminiscing about

Those days where I ran! So much time has passed since I trained for a race. Running needs to become a priority for me again. Stetson has already volunteered to be my buddy but he needs to learn to stay in his lane.

What I’m loving…

Experimenting with my new camera! I have so much to learn but it’s been fun to take pictures of loved ones and the pups. Also, I’m SO excited the Royal Baby is here! Eeeeck!! I had a feeling all along it would be a boy.

What I’ve been up to…

Waiting patiently for our carpet to arrive for those two rooms! Installation is set to take place TOMORROW!!! Additionally, I have been super busy at work and have gone to Houston twice this month.

What I’m dreading...

Nothing in particular. Work is a bit stressful right now but there is an end in sight!

What I’m working on

A tan HAHA  Recently, my self-tanning regimen has fallen by the wayside. Jergens is what I use on a daily basis but it’s been about a week….or two.

What I’m excited about…

Finalizing my summer bucket list! My co-workers and I have been talking about some fun activities to do over the summer. In making the list, I realize how “uncultured” I am since I haven’t been to many “tourist” spots in Dallas/Fort Worth.

What I’m reading…

To be honest, mostly blogs and reports at work. BUT, I have started to compile a list of books to read this summer. Suggestions would be most appreciated!

What I’m listening to…

Calming and relaxing music at work. Geek alert: I LOVE any Baroque or classical style music. Classic piano hymns or anything of the Enya persuasion have been on repeat.

What I’m wearing…

White pants!! And lots of spring tops! Old Navy clearance racks are my BEST friend as well as colored “jeggings” from Walmart. I’m joining a link-up in a few weeks that discusses transitioning our wardrobes.

What I’m doing this weekend…

A whole bunch of adulting excitement. Translation: Town Talk for grocery shopping, blender buying (thanks for all those suggestions ladies!), painting, cooking, church, and small group. Plus laundry. Lots and lots of laundry. And….DECORATING FINALLY!!!

What I’m looking forward to next month

The Royal Wedding, starting to remodel our living room, and being THAT much closer to summer.

  • I can’t wait to hear to name of the Royal Baby! Did you see the random couple that left the hospital with their new baby and were bombarded with the media. There faces cracked me up!!

Book suggestions (I apologize because I don’t know the authors off the top of my head!) – The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, The Weekenders, A Hundred Summers

  • I am so glad you stopped by my blog this morning! So happy to “meet” you and your sweet blog! I could totally relate to your geek alert. I love classical music and piano hymns too. I often listen to them while getting ready for the day as it sets such a cheerful tone, and sometimes at night to rest and unwind. I love that you’re working on your summer bucket list! I can hardly wait to get going on one too. It’s so much fun to anticipate all that summer goodness ahead! Have fun getting to know your new camera!

    • Thanks Brenda! I’m glad we share a common interest. Music unwinds and refreshes me. I don’t know what we would do without it. Thanks for stopping by!

    • Yes me too!! Hopefully they announce today!

Thanks for stopping by Patty! I hope you’re having a great week as well!

  • I LOVE Old Navy Clearance racks too, you can find such good stuff! And wow, you’ve got quite the weekend ahead – good luck & have fun 🙂

My favorite author to read through the summer is Elin Hilderbrand!

    • Thanks Rochelle, we will see if the whole list gets tackled!
I will add Elin to my list! Thanks for the recommendations!

  • OMG, I need a tan so bad, too! I always feel so guilty laying out in the sun now, though, just because of the whole cancer stigma. But I always feel so much better when I’m tan! Haha. Why is that?!

    • I feel the same way! I like having a little bit of a “glow” and adding a little color to me since I’m naturally pale. Have a great one Lindsay!

  • I feel like I have been living under a rock after reading your post.. there’s another wedding? And I JUST heard about the baby, haha. Goodness, I need to do a lot of catching up!! I can never find anything on the clearance racks at the Old Navy stores here. It seems like they are always picked over! 🙁 I might need to check out the Walmart jeggings too– Walmart has some surprisingly cute stuff!

    • I highly doubt that! I’m a little obsessed with the Brits haha. Old Navy honestly is hit or miss but I have tried several Old Navy stores to figure out which one has the best selection. And yes, Walmart’s been stepping up their game!! Thanks for stopping by Megan!

    • We’ve been waiting on it for a long time so it’s really exciting. I’m glad I’m not the only one who needs a little glow! Thanks for stopping by Lizzie!

  • I loved Jergen’s for giving me a good “fake” tan. I haven’t used it in a few years though. I wish I loved running still. I used to, but now it is hard. I still do it a bit, but not even close to what I did before having kids.

    • Running is hard to stick with! I can definitely understand it being more challenging to maintain with kids! Thanks for stopping by Danielle!
