Glorious Friday, you are here!!!!

I’m not just saying that because September is TOMORROW and the Pumpkin Spice Lattes are out!!! I also have a three day weekend woo!

Last weekend, I painted my heart out with much needed assistance from my father-in-law. Shay went on a guys trip so it was a nice surprise for him to come home to a painted house! We still have a couple of small areas to paint like behind the fridge but I am so relieved that is behind us. But let me tell ya….I have not been that sore in my upper body in so long. Guess I need to crank up the shoulder workouts a notch!

I had a few little breaks during the weekend to attend church, grocery shop, etc. One of the babies in my church small group had the cutest little dinosaur themed first birthday party. I enjoyed catching up with some of my small group ladies and their kiddoes.

Monday morning came too soon and I skipped my AM workout because my arms were still exhausted. During the time that I normally exercise, I was able to do a good bit of meal prep for dinner. The recipe is coming Monday but we made stir fry lettuce wraps! They were delicious and we had plenty of leftovers.

Tuesday after work, we took the dogs to the park! They had a great time.

Wednesday was a fun day!!! I managed to squeeze in a workout and felt ready to go for the day. After work, Shay (who should be a florist) and I assembled a little flower arrangement for my mother-in-law so we could give it to her at dinner with her gift. 

We met my brother-in-law and in-laws for dinner at Texas de Brazil. Such a cool place to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday!!

Seriously, this place was super neat. If you’ve ever been to Pancho’s Mexican Buffet, it’s like that but on steroids. Servers go around offering different kinds of meats: bacon wrapped chicken, pork loin, flank steak, lamb chops, Brazilian meats, jalapeno poppers, sausages, just to name a few.

Each person at your table has a little coin. Green side of the coin means keep the meats coming. Red means no thanks! I was able to eat until my heart was content with their beautiful salad bar and side dishes! Quite the gluten free and vegetarian friendly place!!!! 

Toppings include different kinds of cheese, marinated vegetables, bacon, sushi, chilled salmon and shrimp, couscous, olives, etc. Lobster bisque, fresh bread including Brazilian cheese bread were also tempting! Side dishes included jasmine rice, black beans, sauteed mushrooms (which were AMAZING!), fish, mashed potatoes, and some kind of bananas foster looking dish. As if that was not enough, the dessert tray made its way to our table at the end of the meal.

My in-laws ordered a chocolate mousse cake and a slice of kahlua cheesecake. Needless to say, we left with full tummies.
