Last weekend was pretty fun! My grandparents and parents came up from Houston to celebrate my sister-in-law’s birthday! We had a great time!
Saturday, it rained and rained up until we met up for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. We had a really great time and I have a new favorite item to order! Since it was still early before dinner, I ordered the lunch sized portion of Evelyn’s Favorite Pasta with gluten free pasta. It was the most delicious pasta with lots of sauteed vegetables. Shay tried a new item as well! He enjoyed this pizza!
We did not indulge in cheesecake at the restaurant but several of my family members had birthday cake. For the past year and a half, I have been working my way through Mix and Match Mama’s 100 Bundt Cakes. This version, Chocolate and Coconut (basically a German Chocolate cake) was number 15! Though I could not eat it, I am informed it was a hit!
Sunday, I attended church before driving back out to Dallas. We needed to kill a bit of time before lunch so Mom and I worked on a few scrapbook pages for her niece/my first cousin. For the past 6-7 years, my cousin will come and spend a few days with our family. Mom likes to document their adventures, scrapbook the pictures, and send the scrapbook back to her. Needless to say, the scrapbook is getting pretty heavy! This year, they went to a pizza place so I doodled a little pizza 🙂 Thank you Google Images for your inspiration!
Around lunch time, we headed to Costco. My family enjoys the hot dog/drink combination and so that’s what we did! I filled up on some samples and ate more later. My brother did not want to miss the Texans game so he enjoyed his hot dog and live streamed some of the game. Costco always has lots of fun surprises. Dad and I found this karaoke machine.
After going to Costco, we went by Trader Joe’s to pick up a few items. Then, we headed back out to watch a movie at Northpark Mall. We saw God Bless the Broken Road.
It was a very emotional movie but overall very good.
This elaborately decorated car was in front of the movie theater.
After the movie, my family ordered pizza and we watched some Family Feud. It was comedian family night so that meant the questions were a bit raunchy!
Rain was pretty intermittent this whole week. However, we were able to get out to the dog park twice this week! Shelbie saw her bestie whom we had not seen in forever!
Tuesday, we had a delicious taco-themed potluck at work. It was pretty fun! Everyone had to bring something that started with the first letter of their last name. Since my last name started with an M, I made Mix and Match Mama’s Mississippi Mud Bundt Cake! I was proud of how it turned out and almost every piece was gone by the end of the luncheon.
Lastly, I got to wear my first outfit of fall!
Annnnnddddd our tree is blooming again!
Praying for all of my blogger friends on the East Coast- stay safe!!
